Lussier Hot Springs

In May we travelled to Kicking Horse Resort for our first wedding of the year! It was a wild start to the summer. We saw six bears during our trip! But the highlight had to be the evening the northern lights came out. I had never seen them this strong and as time went on they got stronger and stronger. It was one of the craziest moments and I am so glad I got to see them with Davey.

On our way back to Calgary we made a little detour to Lussier Hot Springs! The water was a little higher than usual, as we were able to spot one hot spring as opposed to the three we saw in most pictures when we looked them up!

The water was actually so hot and so was the weather that I couldn’t stay in the water for more than a few minutes. I found a nice spot where the hot spring poured out into the glacier river and mixed to make a nice temperature. Davey loves the heat though and could probably spend all afternoon soaking in there.

I loved that this Hot Spring was right in the middle of nowhere, down a gravel road, right in the middle of the forest. The best part? It’s free!

Have you ever seen the northern lights? Where were you?
