PNW Roadtrip
Roadtrip! On a whim, Davey and I made a last minute decision to head west on a little roadtrip! I had never been to Vancouver, Seattle or Portland before! So when we had the opportunity and time to go we decided to just do it!
It was quite the drive and I am so glad we had one another to keep each other company and entertain each other! We listened to some podcasts (Davey’s favourite), played some music, took naps and made use of my Kit and Ace Real Talk cards! How do you help pass time on a long drive?
Golden Ears
We got to Vancouver and spent a day there, where we attended the Socality instameet at Golden Ears Provincial Park with over 150 people! It was so beautiful there, I couldn’t believe how different it looked from Alberta! Canada is incredible.
Bowen Island
We also visited Bowen Island, where Davey’s parents have a home. We took the ferry over and explored the island! I wish we were there longer but we definitely will be going back! We caught sunset at Cape Roger Curtis and sunrise the next day near the same spot for a view of Vancouver downtown! It is such a quaint island and we can’t wait to go back! We thought we would try to get to our most far away point first and work our way back to shorten the drive and leave room for any incidents.
Portland
After Bowen Island, we then headed south to Portland! I was so excited to see Portland! I have heard nothing but good things about it and it did not disappoint. Cannon Beach for sunrise was incredible and coffee at Stumptown was delicious. We also saw Ace Hotel and did some shopping! Someone please bless me with some Aesop lotion and Le Labo Rose 31!
Seattle
After Portland we went to Seattle, and our time there was even shorter! We got coffee at Milstead and lunch at Odd Fellows. We walked around the neighbourhood, visited Pike Place Market and saw the Gum Wall! It was such a blast but a tad chilly!
Vancouver
Finally we spent our last couple of days exploring Vancouver! So many of our friends live there and I can definitely see the appeal! There is just an endless list of things to do, places to eat and coffees to drink! Plus so many cute stores and buildings and all the pretty leaves! My favourite coffee was from Nemesis, but Davey is a Revolver guy! However, the pastries at 49th Parallel were the best from Lucky Donuts!
