Glamping in Montana

Just over a week ago, Davey and I got to experience a glamping location near Helena, Montana.

When you arrive at the Norwegian Wood Ranch, you are greeted by a picturesque archway which opens up to trees, greenery and rustic buildings. Rene the host may arrive on a quad and then proceed to give you a tour on a golf cart. The property is huge, it sits on 80 acres of ranchland and I'm sure we barely saw two acres of the property during our stay there.

We drove in the golf cart to our tent, which is no ordinary tent that I'm sure comes to mind when you read that word. It was a safari glamping tent, the last in a line of safari tents, nestled into some woods across from a creek. Upon entering the tent you will find a rustic bed, with quaint linens and an antique sink which has been repurposed to use in the tent so you can brush you teeth and wash your face at night. The tents are equipped with lanterns, one hanging from the top of the tent, and another beside your bed so you can walk peacefully at night to the washroom area. It was so nice to know what to bring for glamping, and that so much of it was already provided.

We explored the property and found the sweetest animals. A very large pig named Bacon, and some Scottish Highlanders resting in the shade. We even saw a deer wandering by our tent, eating off the trees. If you take a walk up the creek you will come across a small waterfall below a bridge, and on the other side of the bridge there will be a pond. This creek was a lifesaver because when we arrived that afternoon it was 40 degrees Celsius, I'm sure. Expect for Montana to be warm in the summer months.

Later that evening we took a shower, which is shared among all of the glamping tents, nestled behind Tent 2, and made our way to The Highlander. It is a 5-star restaurant on site and it was such an incredible meal. We got bruschetta, the rib-eye steak and fettuccini alfredo. The food was truly unbelievable and I highly recommend eating there. Unfortunately we were too stuffed to even look at dessert!

The Norwegian Wood is a quaint glamping spot, a hidden gem in southern Montana and definitely a stop worth making. I highly recommend a glamping holiday for your next vacation. Thank you so much to GlampingHub for having us there!
