Montana 2017

So in July 2016 I won a giveaway from one of my favourite blogs Treasures and Travels! One of the things included in that giveaway was a gift card to GlampingHub! I didn’t get a chance to use it and then I saw that it was going to expire, so my boyfriend Davey and I quickly planned a spontaneous trip and went to Montana for a couple of days! We did so much in the short time we were there and had such a blast!

We stayed just outside of Browning in a tipi! (Quick sidenote: tipi or teepee?). It was really cool to stay in a real tipi! We also found out that we were the first people to stay there that had booked through GlampingHub so that was cool!

We woke up early the next day and headed into Glacier National Park for sunrise at Two Medicine Lake. Dating a photographer and videographer means a lot of early mornings! It was so funny to see all the photographers coming out once we got there! We decided to head out and found some nice light at Lower Two Medicine! We spent a lot of time down at this lake, and I was so fascinated by the tiny little frogs! On our way out, I saw a sign that said 'Huckleberry Pancakes'. I just can’t resist good breakfast food! It was actually quite good.

We spent the afternoon at Lake Macdonald! We packed a little picnic and had lunch on the beach and then floated on the lake in our dingys! It was such a relaxing day and such beautiful weather! 

From there we drove to Hidden Lake for a little hike and it was so beautiful! There were so many mountain goats and marmots!

Davey was so worried that we wouldn’t get a good sunset because it was getting super cloudy, but we started driving on Going-to-the-Sun Road regardless. Then all of a sudden, the sun just started glowing and breaking through the clouds. It was one of the best sunsets that we have both seen! Then just when you thought it couldn’t get better, it got better! 

PS. Can you believe this waterfall is right on the side of the road?!

The next day we were heading home and decided to go to Many Glacier Hotel on our way out. I was so exhausted that I slept through sunrise! Oops. But this is what it looked like looking out onto the lake! Are you a camper or a glamper? Let me know in the comments below!
