DRUMHELLER

DRUMHELLER

Wow, I can’t believe I’m saying this because I feel so honoured and equally as unqualified but I was recently accepted into the Alberta Creator Community! It is so wild! In June, Travel Alberta was kind enough to host myself, and Davey alongside many other creators in Alberta for a glamping weekend in Drumheller!

We called this cute little airstream home for the weekend. We were camped out right next to the Last Chance Saloon, where Jackie Chan filmed Shanghai Noon! This airstream was so spacious and cute inside, thanks so much to Wheel Estate for providing all the trailers for us this weekend. I had no idea Wheel Estate was a thing but it’s basically airbnb for RV’s are cute trailers like this one.

We got the chance to visit the Royal Tyrrell Museum. I was on the hunt for the Albertasaurus and didn’t find it! But that’s because just this past week, June 25th or so, they brought one in! It’s in the new area of the museum so you should definitely check it out and if you see it, send me a picture please! But the whole museum is so insane, seeing this mammoth skeleton was just insane, it’s so huge. I’m in awe that these creatures roamed the Earth once upon a time. I highly recommend checking it out.

In the heat of a very smoky afternoon, we all geared up. Half the group went e-biking, but we decided to go kayaking! The group was enthusiastic, paddling hard. Until we realized that the river would take us there, and we all kicked our feet up and started hanging out it pods. Wearing my Blundstone’s at all times apparently. Look how cute AV is in that left photo waving! Thanks to Chris Has and Lizzie Pierce for also giving us an excellent presentation on YouTube, creativity and working with your partner. And also joining us on the river!

To wrap up our beautiful weekend in Drumheller, we headed to Horseshoe Canyon for a beautiful long table dinner hosted by Season & Supply.

This dinner was absolutely unreal! It was some of the most delicious food we’ve ever had, and each course was paired with a local liquor as well! If you’re in Alberta, I can’t stress enough how much I think you need to attend one of these dinners. Every single dish uses locally grown produce, meat and is served on repurposed barn wood and slate. The couple who owns this company is the sweetest. Seriously, go eat their food!

After a beautiful dinner we explored the canyon and enjoyed a stunning sunset. I love how unique this landscape is, there is honestly nothing like it in Alberta.
