Fall x 12 Things
Fall is almost over here in Alberta thanks to an early snowfall! But we managed to find some yellow leaves in Calgary and make the most of a crisp day to photo some of my favourite new pieces. I haven’t done a 12 things post in a while and I am pumped to share some life updates.
We almost have everything ready for our apartment! We finally got some more seating for our dining table and are just saving a little more for our coffee table and then I want to do an apartment tour!
I know a ton of people are hyped on Halloween but it’s probably my least favourite holiday of the year. But I will be enjoying Halloween but rewatching all of the haunted house videos on Ellen, and season 2 of Making a Murderer! I made a playlist of the videos if you wanna check them out here and laugh with me.
The weather here has been very odd, we had a very early snowfall with temperatures below 0 and then this past week we were back up almost at 20! Living in Alberta confuses my wardrobe tremendously! But I love it.
4. I’m super into this plaid trend and I’m having a hard time resisting buying everything in plaid! Pants, jackets, blazers! I just don’t want the trend to stop!
5. Has anybody who is an immigrant tried to change their married name in Canada? My goodness what a pain this is! If you’re an immigrant in Canada who has been married can you comment below because I could use some support and also would love to make a blog post on this if it even helps ONE person!
6. I asked Davey to state a fact about our current life and he said “we can’t get enough of each other”. It’s so true, I love him to bits! Even though he’s been on so many work trips lately!
7. I work with children a lot of the time, and last week a little girl asked me “do you like your sweater?” and I answered, “yes I do” and she said “that’s good, I don’t like it.” I love how honest kids are, but it’s a good point! What you wear isn’t going to make everyone happy, not even 3 year olds!
8. It’s been almost a year since I launched my blog and I’ve had so much fun with it, but I’m ready for a change! I’ll be changing the template, my editing style and my instagram username! I hope you keep following along.
9. Part of this change is also more and more I’ve been challenged by the idea of what we are using our influence for. I know my following is small but I want to make sure that whoever’s eyes I do have on me, I’m making them feel encouraged, uplifted and overall positive. I never want to know that I made someone feel worse about themselves or their lives.
10. There are a bunch of new murals that went up in Calgary, 13 actually! I’m so glad this city is finally getting some more public art. It makes the city feel so much more alive! Especially in the cold winter months.
11. The last trip Davey and I went on was to Montana in August, and it’s looking very likely I won’t be going anywhere exciting until March, which may be the longest I’ve gone in between trips since Davey and I started dating!
12. Since thanksgiving is over, I’m already planning Christmas in my head and watching all the stores start posting their Christmas decorations. I honestly can’t wait for Christmas!
